The Schwinn fitness and sports equipment company considers itself to be an American icon, a leading brand of recreation products, bicycles, and commercial and home fitness equipment - and with good reason. The Schwinn Company's story dates back over 100 years to 1895, when Ignaz Schwinn and his partner Adolph Arnold incorporated the "Arnold, Schwinn & Company" in Chicago, Illinois. The following year, Schwinn started its bicycle racing program and obtains more racing victories than any other bicycle manufacturer. In 1908, Ignaz Schwinn bought his partner's interest in the company to become the sole owner.
